SimplyBiz launch 2015 Investment Forums

16 Jan 2015

SimplyBiz have announced a series of investment forums running at 17 venues throughout the UK between the 20th of January and the 5th of March 2015 as part of their ongoing support for advisers on key issues.

The events, which focus on non mainstream investments, feature presentations from Aberdeen, M&G, Octopus, HSBC Global Asset Management, Schroders, BNY Mellon, Verbatim and Time Investments, in addition to a compliance session from SimplyBiz. Areas covered will include effects of the global market, the ‘great rotation’, investments in commercial property, absolute return funds and structured products.

Rachel Lee, Director of Events and Member Relations for SimplyBiz, commented:

“All SimplyBiz services and propositions are designed with the needs of our Member Firms in mind, and these non mainstream investment events were introduced as a direct response to increased demand from our membership. We know that there is there is a very real appetite for information on NMI from those of our Members who are independent and have brought together the very best specialists in this area in order to satisfy this demand.

“We know that non-mainstream investment has been a slightly foreboding business area for advisers so far and we want to de-mystify it and ensure the advisers who use our services have complete clarity on non mainstream products and all the facts to hand when trying to decide what’s right for their clients.”

Dan Russell, Managing Director of Verbatim, added:

”We recognise that the sunset clause is also of great interest to advisers in 2015 and are therefore taking this opportunity to continue to build upon the work surrounding the sunset clause we began last year.  Our team will be at all of the events, helping advisers to minimise the impact of the sunset clause and drive their business forward.  As at all of our events, a compliance session is also included, to ensure a fully well-rounded day for all attendees.”

During 2014 SimplyBiz hosted 219 events on a range of topics including investments, mortgages, protection, auto enrolment and pensions.  There was over 600 hours of structured CPD accredited to the 2014 events overall, and nearly 8000 attendees; almost a 10% rise in attendance on the previous year.  SimplyBiz’s Learning and Development Events, which begin in April, will focus on another key area, pensions freedom.
